Speaking
Family history isn’t just about tracing names on a tree—it’s about uncovering the lives, choices, and legacies of those who came before us. Every ancestor has a story, and every researcher has a journey. Through my presentations, I help audiences bridge the past and present, offering fresh strategies, historical insights, and new ways to connect with the people who shaped our histories.
At the heart of my work is the Corn Island Project, a commitment to preserving and sharing Kentucky’s rich genealogical and historical heritage. Like the early settlers of Corn Island, whose stories laid the foundation for Louisville’s history, our ancestors left behind traces waiting to be rediscovered. My presentations explore the ways we can piece together these fragments—through research, storytelling, and community collaboration.
As past president of the Kentucky Genealogical Society (2020–2023), I organized and hosted over 100 virtual events for an audience of family historians throughout Kentucky and around the globe. I understand the unique needs of genealogical audiences—whether they’re beginners eager to start their journey or experienced researchers looking for new insights. My goal is to deliver engaging, practical, and thought-provoking presentations tailored to their interests.
